This is our most popular programme and combines the Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) with the multi engine endorsement and instrument rating (MEAIR) qualifications.
The CPL is the licence you need to work as a pilot. Training for this licence includes basic training (similar to recreational and private licence training), plus more complex training to ensure that you are able to safely handle a broad range of situations. The CPL also includes additional theory knowledge and additional flying hours.
The MEAIR allows pilots to fly multi-engine aircraft in full Instrument Meteorological Conditions (IMC) at all phases of the flight, both during the day and at night in any operation permitted by the grade of pilot’s licence held.
The MEAIR programme delivers the theory component via a “ground school” covering the requirements for the Instrument Rating Examination (IREX). This is complemented by a series of briefs prior to the flight lessons. There is also a degree of self-study expected from each student. The period of self-study that the student undertakes is entirely up to the student but significant advance reading is recommended.
The CPL + MEAIR is highly recommended as it qualifies you to fly aircraft with more than one engine in a wide range of conditions including night flying and poor weather flying. Ultimately this will make you more competitive in your job hunting.
Aviation licenses and qualifications received in Australia and New Zealand are considered among the highest standard in the world. Most relevant qualifications are transferable among ICAO member states and usually require only a local law exam and flight test. It is important, however, that you contact your local aviation authority before booking your training to ensure that you understand the procedures for converting your qualifications if relevant. We do not make any guarantees in relation to the cost and practicalities of licence conversion.
This course is delivered over approximately 18 months of training in five phases as follows:

This course operates out of the Gold Coast International Airport. The Gold Coast offers exceptionally good flying conditions with good weather year round and beautiful scenery. Gold Coast Airport is a major center with controlled air space - an ideal environment for commercial pilot training. Assistance with accommodation can be provided.

Colour Deficient Vision (CDV):
Australia permits CDV pilots to train for and achieve CPL and ATPL qualifications. Some conditions may apply, so please check with us for advice on your specific circumstances.

Aviation training is a major financial investment so please do not undertake the course if this will cause you financial hardship.
